Xmen Apocalypse

Xmen has been a thousand times better since its relaunch with First Class. Don't get me wrong, I like the older films, but they had glaring inaccuracies and at times a terrible script, which was only glossed over because of great performances by the likes of Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen etc. Apocalypse set the bar for itself pretty high. After 'days of future past' it had some pretty amazing boots to fill and quick. Getting straight in to the backstory in Ancient Egypt, (the MCU seems to be learning from past failures) it shows off the brilliance of its CGI and costume design in the first half hour. The cinematography is top notch and you really can't get lost in the storyline, saying that, there are periods where we could be almost made to feel like we are treading water slightly. A slow middle part of the script brings us down a little bit, but after *spoilers* the Institute is blown to smitherines, with a delightful Quicksilver segment, akin to ...
